Khilji Dynasty

Turk or his ancestors of Jalaluddin Khilji clan were residents of Turkistan. During the period of Kaikuism, he reached the position of the chairman of the royal body guards. After the death of Malik Taj, Kaikuwad made him sit on the high post of military minister. At the same time, Kaikuism was paralyzed due to which the chaos was spread. Turkey put Qumarsh, the son of Kaikavad, on the throne. Firuz became his patron. After this, after killing Caikavad and Cumars, he sat on the throne in 1290 in the palace of Kilagheri. The Sultan was 70 years old when he ascended the throne.

During his reign Balban’s nephew who was the subedar of Kara Manikpur revolted in 1292 and assumed the title of Sultan and increased the Khutba. It suppressed thugs. Jalaluddin killed Sidi Maula. At the time of death, there was a lot of storm. During Jalaluddin’s time, in 1294 AD, Alauddin Khijli attacked Ramch-Dradev and got a lot of resources in loot.

Jalaluddin Khilji tried to make Balban’s harsh rule a little liberal. It was the first Sultan of Delhi who put forth the idea before the public that the basis of the state should be the support of its subjects.
